Homebound Service
Can’t come to the library?
The homebound service extends the library’s reach beyond the confines of its physical space for those who live in Center or West Township. Designed with inclusivity in mind, this invaluable service ensures that individuals who are unable to visit the library due to mobility challenges, illness, or other constraints still have the opportunity to explore the vast world of books. In addition to providing a steady supply of engaging reading materials, the homebound service fosters a sense of connection and belonging within the community. Through this thoughtful initiative, the library becomes a lifeline for those who might otherwise be cut off from the transformative power of stories, enriching lives one book at a time.

How do I register for this service?
Call Elizabeth Hatfield from the library at 574-936-2324, ext. 1005.
How does it work?
Connect with the library staff member overseeing the homebound services and complete the homebound application process. Following approval, books will be carefully chosen, and you can opt for either a pick-up arrangement by a friend or family member or schedule a convenient delivery time. For library pickups, it’s advisable to call ahead a few days in advance to allow staff adequate time to gather the selected books. Deliveries are conducted on six-week intervals and include up to 10 carefully curated items. If a delivery option is chosen, it will be carried out by a dedicated library staff member or a qualified volunteer, ensuring a seamless and personalized reading experience.
Who is eligible for this service?
Anyone who lives or owns property in Center or West Township in Marshall County and possesses an active library card is eligible. Deliveries of library materials can only be made in Center or West township.
What materials are available?
